Welcome

I warmly welcome you to my website. Are you seeking a counsellor with a specific goal in mind, a difficult challenge in life you are facing, or something just hasn't been feeling quite 'right' for a while?

Whether your goal is to become empowered in your situation, to grow and develop or to have a sanctuary in which to heal from loss, I provide a warm and relaxed environment and can help you to explore and navigate what is going on for you at your pace.

Counselling

A safe, relaxed space from the pressures outside

If you are looking for a counsellor, you may be at a point in life where things feel uncertain and painful and you're not sure how you are going to get through it. Counselling offers a reliable and therapeutic space once a week, where we can put your priorities first and focus on what is important to you.

The calming space of counselling can provide a restorative environment as you work through what is causing you pain, discomfort or uncertainty. You will be listened to with respect and without judgement and I will work with you as we explore what is underlying your challenges and feelings so that you can become empowered.

In addition to face to face, I also run my private practice online and on the telephone, enabling you to access sessions from the comfort of your own home. Sessions are usually at the same time each week to maintain continuity. I understand that for those on shift work this can be difficult to achieve and I do offer some flexibility with client working patterns, where possible.

Counselling costs £65 for a 50 minute session.

My Background

Much of our emotional discomfort and anxiety are a normal part of universal human experience

Clients sometimes tell me that when they were experiencing low mood, anxiety or even if they had suffered a bereavement, they went to the GP and were prescribed medication. Sometimes this helped them to get by and 'manage their symptoms', while others discarded the prescription form and continued to struggle. Yet both felt that they wanted something more for themselves, that they didn't want to be reliant on medication and that they wanted to feel in control again. To feel whole again.

I support young people and adults alike with the physical symptoms that can come with anxiety and stress. In particular, I have worked with school, college and university students to remain in or return to full-time education, helping them to empower themselves with the tools and insight they needed to strive forward.

I am also a bereavement counsellor, creating a safe, holding space for clients to make sense of their loss and to find meaning. Grief comes in a variety of forms and in its own time, which is honoured and respected in my work.

Empower

Regain Control and Autonomy

Tool-kits, psychoeducation and exercises: proactively explore your thought processes, what is playing out in your relationships and understand your personal obstacles to wellbeing.

I regularly support clients who experience the physical symptoms that come with stress and anxiety and clients who wish to implement stronger boundaries in their lives.

Get in Touch

I understand that the decision to start counselling can be a daunting one and there are a lot of unknowns, in particular how it all actually works. To that end I offer a free 15 minute initial phone call where I can answer any queries you may have. I also understand that making that first step to get in touch can be difficult, so I warmly welcome you to call, e-mail or text and I will respond to you as soon as I can.

The phone call gives you an opportunity to decide whether you would like to book a session with me and for me to have an opportunity to gain an oversight of why you are coming to counselling.

There is no obligation to take up counselling after a call or initial consultation, what is most important is you find the right support for you.

I very much look forward to hearing from you.
