Are You Getting Your 5 a Day?
The World Health Organisation advises that we eat 400g of fruit and vegetables a day, more commonly known as our 5 a day, to ensure that we receive the vitamins and minerals we require to stay healthy, as well as reduce our risk of stroke and cancer.
But are you also getting your 5 a day for emotional and mental wellbeing? Let's take a look at some of the examples below.
How did you find this exercise and what did you learn about yourself?
If you're already achieving these things on a regular basis then that's a positive sign of self-care which will help you in difficult times. You may have looked at some of these, however, and realised that life feels too much like a fast-moving train. Perhaps you do have time but experience some form of 'block' to either allowing these things for yourself or getting started at all. The way we choose to care for ourselves says a lot about our relationship with ourselves and ultimately our relationship with others.
If this resonates with you, counselling can help you to understand where this comes from and how to prioritise your well being.
